USAA has been on my mind since my interview, and their call came a few weeks ago. My gut feeling right after the interview was correct — I got the internship! I’ll be paid, of course, and they’ll give me a housing stipend for the ten weeks that I’ll be living in San Antonio this summer. I’m really excited.

I also have another semester behind me. I did quite well this fall, mainly because I avoided procrastination better than I ever have before. (This is my fourth year of college, so I guess it’s about time I learned.) I knew with my busy schedule that I’d be sunk if I fell behind in any of my classes, so I stayed on top of things all the way to the end. I was so well prepared for my finals before they even came that I got an average of 8.7 hours of sleep a night during finals week. That’s more than I usually get, since I had a cold, and it’s certainly more than I usually get during finals.

This has been a great fall in a lot of ways. I secured a great internship, gave my GPA a slight boost, found a better-paying job in Waco, and even had more of a social life. I’m confident about the semester to come, but this one will be hard to top.
