I’ve been too busy to want to blog these last two and a half weeks, but I finished my last pre-Thanksgiving exam six hours ago, so I now have time to catch up a little.
Right now I’m finishing the second shift of my career in the computer lab, doing homework and browsing the internet when I’m not making the rounds or being asked questions by students. I got the job after one light interview and four standard training sessions. There’s not a lot of activity down here from midnight to 4:00 AM, and it’s natural for me to stay up late on two non-consecutive nights a week, so I think this shift will be great.
Two weekends ago I attended a record convention in Austin with a friend. While I now have albums by Johnny Cash, The Beatles, Electric Light Orchestra (2), U2 (2) and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, I don’t have a record player with which to play them. I’ll probably do some shopping over Thanksgiving break, which is twelve days away and counting. I’ve never looked forward to it so much.
This Friday it just so happens that my most difficult task will have nothing to do with school — since it’s laundry day, I get to hit up local shopkeepers for quarters after class.
